Crankshaft oil seal, pulley end: replace > < Sealing flange and flywheel/drive plate

1 - 15 Nm
2 - Seal
q   replace → Chapter
q   Do not use oil
3 - Sealing flange on the pulley side:
q   Must sit on dowel sleeves
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Mount with sealant → Parts catalogue
4 - cylinder block
q   Removing and installing crankshaft → Chapter.
q   Piston and rod: disassembly and assembly → Chapter
5 - 60 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn)
q   replace
6 - Dual mass flywheel or drive plate
q   Removing and installing dual-mass flywheel → Chapter.
q   Drive plate: removing and installing → Chapter
q   Assembly is possible only in one position, as the holes are offset
7 - Intermediate plate
q   Must sit on dowel sleeves
q   Do not damage or bend when assembling.
q   Is fitted onto sealing flange → Fig.
8 - 15 Nm
9 - Sealing flange on flywheel side
q   Can be replaced complete with oil seal.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Use the provided guide sleeve for installation.
q   Do not grease or oil the seal lip of the seal
q   Before the installation, clean the remains of oil on the crankshaft journal using a clean cloth.
q   The guide sleeve should only be removed after fixing the sealing flange on the crankshaft journal

   
Installing intermediate plate
–  Engage intermediate plate on sealing flange, and press onto dowel sleeves -arrows-.
