Mechanical air circulation valve: check > < Turbocharger and charge pressure regulating valve: check
Effects of leaks
Effects of leaks
Leakage behind air mass meter
t  Effect:
Loss of output.
t  Possible error causes are:
1 - Connection hoses between air mass meters and turbocharger
2 - Connection hose to the crankshaft sump breather
3 - Connecting hose to mechanical turbocharger air recirculation valve
Leakage downstream of turbocharger
t  Effect:
Supercharger pressure too low
t  Possible error causes are:
1 - Connecting hoses and pipe between turbocharger and charge air cooler
2 - Hose between charge air coolers and intake manifold
3 - Charge air cooler
4 - Seal of charge pressure sender -G31- (in charge-air cooler)
5 - Seal between throttle valve module and intake manifold
6 - Gasket between intake manifold and cylinder head
Leakage on exhaust end
t  Effect:
Inadequate charge pressure; possible smell of exhaust gas, traces of soot in engine compartment
t  Possible error causes are:
1 - Connection between turbocharger and exhaust manifold
2 - Exhaust manifold/cylinder head joint
