Camshaft timing chain - exploded view
1 - Bolt.
q   9 Nm
2 - Chain tensioner
q   Exerts spring pressure
q   Before removing, lock with retention tool -T40011-
3 - Tensioning rail for timing chain
4 - Guide pin
q   20 Nm
5 - Bolt.
q   9 Nm
6 - Control valve
q   Left-hand thread.
q   35 Nm
q   Carry out the removal using the assembly tool -T10352- or assembly tool -T10352/1- depending on the version
7 - Bolt.
q   Replace
q   On vehicles with 1.8 ltr. engine: 8 Nm + turn 90° further
q   On vehicles with 2.0 ltr. engine: 20 Nm + turn 90° further
8 - Washer
9 - Bearing saddle
10 - Guide rail for camshaft timing chain
11 - Camshaft housing
12 - Camshaft timing chain
q   Before removing, mark running direction with paint.
13 - Guide rail for camshaft timing chain
14 - Guide pin
q   20 Nm
15 - Pinions
q   Crankshaft
q   Installation position → Fig.
