Sender wheel: removing and installing > < Crankshaft

For assembly work the engine must be held with the engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095- to the assembly stand → Chapter.
   
1 - cylinder block
2 - Bearing shell for cylinder block
q   With oil groove
q   Do not interchange used bearing shells (mark).
q   Classification of crankshaft bearing shells → Chapter
3 - Crankshaft
q   After removing, place it down so that the impulse sender wheel does not rest - risk of damage
q   If crankshaft is renewed, new bearing shells must be assigned to bearing caps → Chapter
q   Axial clearance → Chapter
q   Radial clearance → Chapter
q   When measuring the radial play, do not rotate the crankshaft
q   Crankshaft dimensions → Chapter
4 - Bearing shell for bearing cap
q   Without oil groove
q   Do not interchange used bearing shells (mark).
q   Classification of crankshaft bearing shells → Chapter
5 - Bolt.
q   Replace
q   Tightening sequence → Fig.
6 - Bearing cap
q   Bearing cap 1: belt pulley end.
q   Bearing shell retaining lugs in cylinder block and bearing caps must align.
7 - Bolt.
q   10 Nm and then turn 90° further
q   Replace
q   Replace the sensor wheel each time the screws are loosened → Chapter
8 - Generator wheel:
q   For engine speed sender -G28-
q   Can only be installed in one position (out of step bolts)
q   Sender wheel must be renewed if bolts are loosened
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
9 - Thrust washers
q   For bearing 3
10 - Bolt.
q   Replace
q   Tightening sequence → Fig.

   
Crankshaft - tightening sequence
–  Tighten crankshaft bolts in the sequence -1 ... 5- as follows:
1.  Extract bolts -1... 10- and -arrows- by hand.
2.  Extract bolts -1... 10- Initially tighten to 65 Nm.
3.  Extract bolts -1... 10- using the fixed wrench to turn 90° further.
4.  Pre-tighten bolts -arrows- to 20 Nm.
5.  Turn bolts -arrows- 90° further using a rigid wrench.
