Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Coolant tester -V.A.G 1274-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Cooling system tester adaptor -V.A.G 1274/8-
t  Cooling system tester adaptor -V.A.G 1274/9-

l  Engine at operating temperature
Checking process:
  WARNING
Steam may be released when opening the expansion tank. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury to eyes and burns. Cover the cap with a cloth and open carefully.
–  Open the cap of the coolant expansion tank.
   
–  Attach the cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274- with the adaptor -V.A.G 1274/8- onto the expansion tank.
–  Use hand pump on tester to create a pressure of approx. 1.0 bar.
If the pressure drops:
–  Locate the leak and repair the fault.
