Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-
t  Cooling system tester adaptor -V.A.G 1274/8-
t  Pliers to open hose clips -VAS 5024A-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Coolant charger -VAS 6096-
t  Tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
t  Pliers for spring-type clips -VAS 6499- or Pliers -T20174-, see equivalent → Anchor

removing
–  Drain coolant → Chapter
   
–  Remove the supercharger air hoses -arrows-.
–  Place lock carrier into original position: → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. Gr.50.
–  Pull coolant hoses off radiator.
–  Remove the air vent with coolant fans → Chapter.
  Note
To avoid damage to the condenser and coolant pipes/hoses, take care not to bend, twist or stretch the pipes/hoses excessively.

–  Loosen the radiator bolts -arrows-.
–  Remove the radiator downwards.
Fitting
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
–  Do not re-use coolant if fitting a new radiator.
–  Fill cooling system → Chapter
Tightening torques.
