l  Pre-tensioned chain tensioner → Chapter
   
–  Position the intermediate plate on the adjustments sleeve of the rotational balancing unit, as shown in the figure -arrows-.

–  Fit the oil pump with rotational balancing unit and the intermediate plate. Tighten mounting bolts from inside to outside to 15 Nm + 1/4 turn. (90°) using a spanner.
  Note
Take into account the different lengths of the bolts → Fig.

–  Crankshaft at TDC cyl. 1 TDC.

–  Align the mark on the balance shaft sprocket -arrow- with the assembly hole. Lock the pinion in this position using the counter hold -T10027A-. Fit the chain to the steering pinion of the balance shaft.
–  Fit the oil pump sprocket, and tighten the bolt by hand.
  Note
The oil pump steering pinion has a specific position. Only the oil pump must be turned during assembly.

–  Remove the holding tool -T10027A- and the internal hex socket wrench -1-. Attach the sprocket to the oil pump. Tightening torque: 20 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) It is possible to counterhold on the centre screw on the vibration dampers.
–  Install sump → Chapter.
Continue installation following reverse order for removing.

D - Collared hex bolt M7 x 55
E - Seal bolt with O-ring
