–  Remove sump → Chapter.
   
–  Remove chain guard. If necessary, release the locking tabs with a small screwdriver through the holes -arrows-.

–  Loosen the bolt of oil pump steering pinion. It may be retained by the centre bolt of the vibration damper.
  Caution
The drive sprocket cannot be removed from the balance shafts!

–  Loosen the guide rail of the chain with a screwdriver -arrow-, and immobilise the rail with an Allen key -1- e/c 3 mm.

–  Remove the oil pump steering pinion, and take the drive chain off the rotational balancing unit.

–  Remove the oil splash guard; For this purpose remove bolts -1 and 2-.
