Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Turning tool -T10202-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-1334
t  Torque wrench -VAG 1332-, see equivalent → Anchor.
Removing
l  The fuel tank must not be more than 3/4 full.
  Note
t  If necessary, drain the tank.
t  Observe the safety precautions before starting work → Chapter .
t  Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
–  Remove the rear seat bench → Bodywork, interior fitting work; Rep. gr.72.

–  First check that connector -arrow- is fitted securely by pulling connector without pressing catch. Malfunctions may arise when the connector has not been inserted correctly.
  WARNING
Fuel supply line is pressurised. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury and contact with skin. Before loosening hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then eliminate the pressure by carefully separating the pipe.

–  Disconnect the fuel lines -1- and -2- from the flange.

Press in safety ring to release fuel lines.

–  Open the sealing ring with the rotation tool -T10202-, and lift the flange slightly.
–  Pull fuel delivery unit and seal out of their housing in fuel tank.
  Note
t  When removing the fuel delivery unit, ensure that the fuel gauge sender is not bent.
t  If the fuel delivery unit is to be renewed then drain the old unit before disposal.
Installing
–  Renew seal.
–  Insert dry seal for fuel delivery unit into opening of fuel tank.
–  Moisten the seal on the inside with fuel.
–  When inserting fuel delivery unit, ensure that fuel gauge sender is not bent.

–  Tighten the flange downwards using force until leaving it in its fitting position.
l  Lug -2- on flange must be between tabs -1- and -3- on fuel tank.
l  The -arrow- points forwards.
–  Tighten the lock ring.
l  Tightening torque: 110 Nm

–  Connect the fuel supply line -1- (black).
–  Connect the return line -2- (blue or marked mark).

–  Insert the connector -arrow-.
–  Pull on the quick connectors and the plug connector to check if they have been connected correctly.
The assembly is carried out in reverse order. Note the following:
If the fuel delivery unit has been replaced, the engine control unit must be adapted to the fuel pump → vehicle diagnosis device „Guided function“.
