Adjusting assembly mounting Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Socket -U-30025E-, see equivalent → Anchor l  Tightening torques Proceed as follows:

–  Remove the air conduit cover by releasing the side tabs -arrows-.

–  Release the lower air conduit by releasing the tabs -arrows-. –  Detach bottom section of air duct with air hose.

–  Unplug connector -1- from air mass meter -G70-. –  Separate the air hose -2-. –  Unscrew the bolt -4- and remove the air filter housing. –  Remove the battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.

–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove battery bracket.

–  Remove the reinforcement -1-.   Note Disregard -arrows-.   Note With engines BZB, CDAA and CCZB, the spindle hook can be hung into the engine eye without the support tool -T10014-.

–  Bolt the support tool -T10014- to the engine eyebolt with an M10 nut. –  Position the support -U-30025E- on the edges of the wings. –  Place the spindle hook on the support tool -T10014- and slightly pre-tension.   Caution Take care not to damage the edges of the wings.

–  Take up weight of engine evenly with both spindles; do not lift.

–  Release the securing bolts -arrows- of the engine assembly, engine side.

–  Release the securing bolts -arrows- of the engine assembly, gearbox side. –  Renew all 4 bolts one after another (if they have not already been removed when the engine was installed) and screw them in by hand.

–  Move the engine between engine console -1- and support arm -2- using a fitting bar until the following dimensions are reached: l  Between the engine support and the right longitudinal member there must be a distance of -a- = 16 mm. l  The moulded edge at the engine support foot -2- must be parallel to the support arm -1- (dimension-x- = dimension-x-).   Note The dimension -a- = 16 mm. can be checked, for example, with an appropriate cylindrical object. –  Tighten the bolts of the assembly mounting → Chapter.

–  Ensure that on the gearbox side that the edges of the support arm -2- and the gearbox console -1- are parallel (dimension -x- = dimension -x-). –  Tighten the bolts of the assembly mounting on the gearbox side → Chapter. Continue the installation in the reverse order of removal sequence, observing the following: –  Install battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27. –  Install air cleaner housing → Chapter.
