Removing and installing coolant temperature senderG62
Removing and installing coolant temperature sender -G62-
Removing → Anchor.
Installing → Anchor.
   
Removing
Proceed as follows:
l  Engine cold.
–  Remove the air conduit cover by releasing the side tabs -arrows-.

–  Release the lower air conduit by releasing the tabs -arrows-.
–  Detach bottom section of air duct with air hose.

–  Remove the air conduit guard -Pos. 2 and 3-.
  Note
Ignore positions -1 and 2- and the -arrow-.

–  Disconnect electrical connection -1- on throttle valve control unit -J338-.
–  Unscrew the bolts -arrow- and remove the throttle valve control unit -J338-.

–  Remove support for intake manifold (remove nut -2- and bolt -1-).

Clip-on version
–  Disconnect connector -1- from coolant temperature sensor -G62-.
  Note
Place a cloth below to catch escaping coolant.
–  Detach retaining clip (press release tabs -arrows-).
–  Remove the coolant temperature sender -G62--pos. 2-.

Bolted version
–  Disconnect connector -2- from coolant temperature sensor -G62-.
  Note
Place a cloth below to catch escaping coolant.
–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove the retention plate -1-.
–  Coolant temperature sender -G62-: Remove
Installing
Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  Note
t  Renew O-ring.
t  Insert new coolant temperature sender -G62- immediately into connection to avoid loss of coolant.
–  Fit intake manifold support → Item
–  Replace the throttle valve control unit -J338-.
–  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
