Removing and installing toothed belt for coolant pump Removing → Anchor. Installing → Anchor. Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Spanner -T10360-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor. Removing –  Remove small coolant pipe → Chapter.

–  Release the coolant hose -2- and the cable harness -1-. –  Unscrew the bolt -arrow- and remove the bracket.

–  Unscrew the bolt -2- on the bracket for the coolant pump -V51-.   Note Ignore positions -1- and -arrow-.

–  Disconnect the coolant hoses -1 and 2- and put them to one side.

Engine code BYT –  Release the tabs by pressing, disconnect the hose from the crankshaft breather -arrow- and move to one side. –  Unscrew the bolts -1 to 8- and remove the coarse oil separator.

Engine codes BZB - CCZB - CDAA –  Remove bolts -1 … 9- and detach coarse oil separator. All   Caution Risk of lubrication system contamination. Cover the opening with clean cloths.

–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove the timing belt guard.

–  Unscrew the drive pinion bolt -1- from the coolant pump with the torque wrench -V.A.G 1331- and with the tool -T10360-, by locking the vibration damper..   Caution The drive sprocket bolt has a left-hand thread. –  Remove the drive pinion -1- and the timing belt -2-. Installing Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: l  Tightening torque → Chapter   Note t  Renew drive sprocket bolt. t  Renew gaskets and O-rings. t  Note installation position of toothed belt sprocket → Item –  Fit the coarse oil separator: Engine code BYT → Chapter; Engine codes BZB - CCZB - CDAA → Chapter. –  Install continued coolant circulation pump -V51- → Chapter. –  Fit the pipes for the heating system heat exchanger → Chapter. –  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
