| When the engine is hot the cooling system is under pressure. Therefore, this pressure must de reduced before repairing. |

| Secure the hose connections with original clamps. |

| Spring-type clip pliers -V.A.G 1921- or hose clip pliers -VAS 5024A-, see equivalent → Anchor, are recommended for installation of spring-type clips. |

| Renew gaskets and seals. |

| The arrow markings on the coolant pipes and on the ends of the hoses must be aligned with each other. |
| Check the cooling system for leaks → Chapter. |
