Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Measuring tool -T10007-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.

  Caution
The screw-type clips on the charge air pipes must be tightened to 5.5 Nm. If the torque is too low or too high, the charge air hose may slip off the charge air pipe during vehicle operation.
  Note
t  Radiator and charge air cooler are separate components.
t  Radiator is mounted onto charge air cooler.
t  Radiator and charge air cooler are removed and installed together.
Removing
–  Drain coolant → Chapter
   
–  Loosen the angled bracket -arrow- and remove the right hose from the charged air cooler.

–  Detach the connector -arrow- of the coolant fan -V7-.

–  Pull connector -arrow- from radiator outlet coolant temperature sender -G83-.

–  Disengage the locking connection -arrows- and remove the air pipe -1-.

–  Undo the bolts -arrows- for air intake -1-.

–  Loosen the spring-type hose clips -arrow- using the hose clip pliers -VAS 6340- and remove the top hose from the radiator.
–  Place the lock carrier plate into service position → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.50

–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- attaching the condenser to the radiator.

–  Press the upper locking elements -1- on both sides to remove the air duct from the radiator. Take the duct out upwards -arrow-.
–  Remove air vent downwards.

–  Unscrew the bolts -1- that fasten the radiator to the lock carrier plate.
–  Release the unit from the condenser, coolant chiller and charged air cooler upwards from their bracket on the lock carrier and press to the front so that the four securing screws -2- of the condenser on the coolant cooler can be accessed.
–  Unscrew the bolts -2- attaching the catalytic converter to the sump.
  Note
In order to avoid damage to the condenser or the pipes/hoses of the refrigerant, avoid pulling, bending or twisting excessively.
–  Separate the condenser and place on the lock carrier.
–  Remove the radiator together with the charged air cooler to the bottom.

Separate the the radiator from the intercooler.
–  For separating the intercooler -1- from the cooler, press the locking element using a suitable tool.

–  Move the intercooler -1- to the right and remove from the cooler -2-.
Installing
–  Mount the unit comprising of the coolant radiator and charged air cooler from underneath.
  WARNING
Make sure that the locking elements have been connected correctly from the radiator to the supercharger.
–  Insert both centring pins of the charged air cooler in their mountings on the lock carrier.
Install in reverse order to dismantling, noting the following:

Secure all hose connections with original clamps.
–  Fit the lock carrier assembly: → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.50 .
–  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
