Oil pump: removing and installing t  Removing → Anchor t  Fitting → Anchor t  Tightening torques → Anchor   Caution The oil supply line must be renewed on the turbocharger if a new oil pump or oil suction pipe is fitted. Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  counterhold -T10172-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor. Removing –  Remove sump → Chapter.

–  Pull cover -1- off chain sprocket for oil pump. –  The counterhold -T10172- must be used to restrain the oil pump sprocket.

–  Loosen chain sprocket securing bolt.   Note Do not remove bolt completely.

–  Push the chain tensioner in the -direction of the arrow- using a screwdriver. –  Remove chain sprocket securing bolt. –  Take chain sprocket off oil pump and out of chain.

–  Unscrew the fixing screws of the oil pump -arrows-. –  Remove oil pump from cylinder block. Fitting   Caution The oil supply line must be renewed on the turbocharger if a new oil pump or oil suction pipe is fitted. –  Install oil pump and tighten securing bolts to 25 Nm. Oil suction pipe tightening torque: 9 Nm

–  Push the chain tensioner in the -direction of the arrow- using a screwdriver. –  Seat chain sprocket in chain and fit chain sprocket onto oil pump shaft.

–  Observe installation position of chain sprocket on oil pump shaft -arrow-. –  Fit chain sprocket securing bolt. –  Immobilise the sprocket using the retention tool -T10172-.

–  Position torque wrench -VAG 1331- as shown. –  Tighten the fixing screw with 20 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°).

–  Install cover -1-. –  Fit the oil sump → Chapter. –  Top up engine oil → Chapter. Tightening torques
