Camshafts: Removing and installing > < Valve seats: Reworking

Camshaft oil seal: Replace
t  Removing → Anchor
t  Renew → Anchor
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Torque wrench -SAT 8010-
t  Counterhold -T20018B-
t  Guide bush -T20081B-
t  Extractor tool -T20143-

Removing
–  Remove the timing belt only from the cogwheel of the camshaft → Chapter .
   
–  Loosen camshaft sprocket bolt, using the counterhold -T20018B-.
–  Remove the sprocket from the camshaft.
–  Remove the spring from the camshaft.

–  Insert the puller hook -T20143- and extract the seal -1-.
Replacing
  Note
Do not oil seal sealing lip.

–  Fit the oil seal in adapter -T20081/3- and place assembly onto the camshaft.
–  Use the installation tool -T20081/1- and press the guide sleeve/oil seal assembly until the seal is in position. To do this use the securing bolt of the camshaft sprocket.
–  Remove the adaptor -T20081/3-.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order to removal, observing the following:
–  Insert the parallel key into the camshaft.

–  Fit the camshaft sprocket and tighten the bolt, using the retention tool -T20018B- .
  Note
When turning the camshaft, the crankshaft must not be at TDC for any cylinder. Risk of piston valves / head fault.
–  Install toothed belt (adjust valve timing) → Chapter.
