  W00-2165
–  Detach engine cover -arrows- (according to version).
  A10-1564
–  Disconnect hoses -1-, -3- and -4-.
–  Remove air duct by loosening hose clips -2- and -5-.
  E10-10025
–  Separate the vacuum hose -arrow- to the brake servo on the intake manifold.
  E24-10016
–  Unplug connector -1-.
–  Pull hoses -2- and -3- off secondary air pump.
  Note
To release the tubes press hose connections together.
–  Remove the dipstick together with the dipstick funnel and the bracket for the secondary air pump.
  A10-1502
–  Unscrew the bolts on the bracket for the secondary intake manifold -arrows-.
  N24-10174
–  Unscrew the bolts on the fuel rail and remove the expansion rivets from the fuel rail cable guide -arrows-.
  Note
The fuel line may remain connected on the fuel rail.
–  Unscrew the remaining bolts -arrows- from the lower part of the intake manifold to the cylinder head.
  N24-10175
–  Disconnect the electric plug connection -arrows- and clip the cable from the intake manifold.
–  The solenoid 1 for the activated charcoal filter system -N80- and unclip the coolant hose at the intake manifold.
  N24-10173
–  Pull off the connecter -1- and remove the throttle control unit -J338--arrows-.
  N24-10176
–  Unscrew one bolt on the left and right respectively -arrow- at the rear attachment of the intake manifold.
  N24-10177
–  Unscrew the remaining bolts -arrows- from the lower part of the intake manifold to the cylinder head.
–  Next, open carefully the tabs on the upper element of the intake manifold (by pulling on the tabs to one side -arrows-) and remove the lower element by pulling forwards. During this operation, release the fuel distribution with the injectors from the lower element of the intake manifold.
  N24-10178
–  Take fuel rail and injectors off intake manifold lower part as a pair -arrows- and lie on a clean cloth in the engine compartment.
  Note
Cover the intake conduits on the cylinder head with a clean cloth.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
  Note
Secure all hose connections with the correct hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue
–  Renew seals between intake manifold and cylinder head.
–  Renew the O-rings between injector and intake manifold and lubricate with clean engine oil.
–  Position fuel rail together with injectors (properly secured) against intake manifold and press into place evenly all round.
