Installing > < Coolant pump: Removing and installing

Removal:
  WARNING
Steam may be released when opening the expansion tank. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury to eyes and burns. Cover the cap with a cloth and open carefully.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
   
–  Remove the deflection plate -2-.
–  Remove the tensioning device -1- for the Poly-V belt.
–  Remove toothed belt cover (top) → Chapter.
–  Loosen the toothed belt tensioning roller and remove the toothed belt from the camshaft sprocket.

–  Remove centre notched belt guard -arrows-.
  Note
t  Pulley and lower notched belt guard need not to be removed.
t  The notched belt should be left in position on the crankshaft sprocket.
t  Before removing coolant pump, cover toothed belt with a cloth to protect against coolant.

–  Unscrew coolant pump securing bolts -1-, and remove coolant pump -2-.
–  Remove O-ring -3-.
