1 - Upper coolant hose
q   Leads to cylinder head coupling
2 - O ring
q   Replace in case of damages
3 - Radiator
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Renew coolant after replacing.
4 - Seal
q   The bottom seal is not necessarily fitted
5 - Sealing plug
q   Check using the cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274 B- and the adapter for checking cooling systems -V.A.G 1274/9-
q   The pressure release valve should open at a pressure of 1.4 - 1.6 bar.
6 - Electrical connector
7 - 5 Nm
8 - Expansion tank
q   Check the cooling system for leaks using the cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274 B- and the cooling system tester adaptor -V.A.G 1274/8-
9 - Radiator mount
10 - 5 Nm
11 - Retainer
12 - Radiator fan -V7-
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   With coolant fan control unit -J293-
13 - Cowling
14 - 5 Nm
15 - 5 Nm
16 - Electrical connector
17 - Lower coolant hose
q   Leads to thermostat coupling
18 - Clip
19 - Coolant temperature sender - radiator outlet -G83-
20 - O ring
q   Renew
