WARNING Steam may be released when opening the expansion tank. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury to eyes and burns. Cover the cap with a cloth and open carefully. |

Note t
| When the engine is hot the cooling system is under pressure. If necessary, relieve pressure before commencing repair work. |

| Secure the hose connections with original clamps. |
t
| For fitting spring-type clips, it is advisable to use pliers -V.A.G 1921- or pliers -VAS 6362-. |

| Renew gaskets and seals. |
t
| The arrow markings on the coolant pipes and on the ends of the hoses must be aligned with each other. |
