1 - Upper coolant hose
q   Leads to cylinder head coupling
2 - O ring
q   Replace if damaged
3 - Radiator
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Renew coolant after replacing
4 - Seal
q   The bottom seal is not necessarily fitted
5 - Sealing cap
q   Check using cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274- and adapter for cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274/9-.
q   The pressure relief valve must open at a pressure of 1.4 … 1.6 bar.
6 - Electric connector
7 - 5 Nm
8 - Expansion tank
q   Check the cooling system for leaks using the cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274 B- and the cooling system tester adaptor -V.A.G 1274/8-
9 - Radiator mount
10 - 5 Nm
11 - Support
12 - 5 Nm
13 - Cowling
14 - 5 Nm
15 - Fan 2 of the radiator -V177-
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
16 - Electric connector
17 - Radiator fan -V7-
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   With coolant fan control unit -J293-
18 - Lower coolant hose
q   Leads to thermostat coupling
19 - Retaining clip
20 - Coolant temperature sender - radiator outlet -G83-
21 - O ring
q   replace
