Accelerator pedal position sender voltage supply and wiring connections: verification
Accelerator pedal position sender voltage supply and wiring connections: verification
–  Remove the object tray from the drivers side: → General body repairs, assembly work; Rep. Gr.68.
–  Disconnect 6-pin connector for accelerator pedal position senders from the accelerator pedal.
–  Turn the ignition on.
   
–  Connect multimeter to measure voltage at the following contacts of the connector:
  M20-0016
6-pin connector, contactMeasure to
1Earth
1Contact 5
2Earth
2Contact 3
Specification: 4.5 V minimum

–  Switch ignition off.
If the specifications are not attained:
   
–  Connect test box -V.A.G 1598/31- to control unit wiring harness, without connecting the engine control unit (for BBX engines use the tester -V.A.G 1598/22-) → Chapter.

–  Check wiring for open circuit between test box and connector using current flow diagram.

Specification: 4.5 V minimum 

–  Additionally check the wiring for short to battery positive or earth.
–  Additionally check wires for short to one another.
If no wiring fault is detected:
–  Renew accelerator pedal position sender → Item.
