Disassemble and assemble the cylinder head
Disassemble and assemble the cylinder head
Check the compression → Chapter
  Note!
t  If a replacement cylinder head is installed with the camshaft assembled, the contact surfaces between the flat-type tappet and the slipping guides of the camshaft should be lubricated, before installing the cylinder head cover.
t  The plastic bases, which protect the open valves, should be removed only just before assembling the cylinder head.
t  When the cylinder head is replaced, the refrigerant must also be completely renewed.
   
1 - Upper part of the toothed belt protection
2 - Toothed belt
q   Check for wear
q   Do not fold
q   Disassemble and assemble, tense → Chapter
3 - 20 Nm + turn 1/4 (90°) rotation more
4 - Camshaft pinion
q   Remember the position when the toothed belt is assembled → Chapter
5 - 10 Nm
q   Insert with -D6-
6 - Protection for the rear toothed belt
7 - Cylinder head cover: 5 Nm + turn 1/4 (90°) rotation more Toothed belt protection: 10 Nm
8 - Sealing disc
9 - Lock cover
q   Replace the gasket if damaged
10 - Cylinder head cover
11 - Gasket for the cylinder head cover
q   Before installing, spread -D 454 300 A3- on the connection points of the bearing/cylinder head cover
q   Replace if damaged
12 - Cylinder head bolt
q   Replace
q   Engine code letters AEX: grooved bolt head
q   Order to follow for loosening and tightening → Chapter; disassemble and assemble the cylinder head
13 - Cylinder head
q   Check for deformations → Fig.
q   Disassemble and assemble → Chapter
q   Completely renew the refrigerant after replacement
14 - Cylinder head gasket
q   Replace
q   Metal gasket
q   Completely renew the refrigerant after replacement
15 - Roller tensor
q   Tense the toothed belt → Chapter
16 - 20 Nm
17 - Transmission pulley
q   Remember the fastening in the assembly
q   Remember the position when assembling the toothed belt → Chapter
18 - 20 Nm
19 - Ribbed trapezoidal belt
q   Before disassembling, mark the forward direction
q   Disassemble and assemble → Chapter
20 - Lower part of the toothed belt

   
Check for deformations in the cylinder head
Maximum deformation permitted: 0.05 mm
