Assemble > < Disassemble and assemble the fuel tank

–  Before beginning assembly tasks, remember the safety rules → Chapter.
–  First, check if there is an encoded radio device installed. If there is, consult the anti-theft encoding.
–  Disconnect the earth strap from the battery with the ignition on.
–  Now drain the fuel tank.
–  Fold the rear seat forward.
–  Disassemble the trunk floor cover.
   
–  Unplug the connector -1- and the reflux conduit -2- from the flange.
–  Unscrew the fastening bolt and disassemble the fuel cap unit with rubber cap.
–  Unscrew the filling mouth from the bodywork.
–  Unscrew and remove the right rear wheel.
–  Unfasten the hand brake cables from the rear shaft.
Models with ABS:
Remove the conduits from the rear shaft sensors.

–  Remove the brake sensor conduits and the hoses -1-.
–  Unscrew and remove the rear shaft from the body work -arrow-. For this procedure, damp the rear shaft with the engine/transmission elevator -V.A.G. 1383 A-.
–  Lower the -V.A.G. 1383 A- engine/transmission until the fuel tank can be removed.
–  Unscrew and remove the tensor straps and remove the fuel tank toward the rear.
