| Signals from/to air conditioning system: checking |
| Air conditioner compressor signal: Just before the air conditioner compressor is switched on, the voltage is sent to the engine control unit. This signal ensures that the control unit keeps the idling speed constant for the differing power requirements of the air conditioning system. |
| Switching off air conditioner compressor: To obtain full engine power on acceleration, the control unit disactivates the air conditioning compressor for approx. 6 seconds on accelerating from standstill or low speed (first gear). If the accelerator is released earlier the time is shortened to a minimum of 3 seconds. |
