Direct diesel injection system: repairing
Direct diesel injection system: repairing
The diesel is suctioned from the tank by the rotating injection distributor pump, compressed and directly injected through the injectors to the combustion chamber in the piston crown.
The amount injected is electronically regulated by means of the direct diesel injection control unit. Electronic regulation allows regulation of the amount injected and the evolution of injection, the beginning of injection and the exhaust gas recirculation, in a way which is flexible and adapted to the needs.
The direct diesel injection and ignition system control unit is equipped with a fault memory. Before carrying out repair or adjustment work and for finding faults, the fault memory has to be consulted and the final control diagnosis carried out → Chapter.
  Note!
BWhen carrying out adjustment and testing work, the control unit can detect and memorise faults. Therefore, once all adjustment and testing work is finished, the fault memory should be erased → Chapter.
