Install the flange shaft oil seal
Install the flange shaft oil seal
   
–  Lightly lubricate outside circumference of new oil seal and drive in onto stop using thrust piece -T10049-. Take care to keep seal straight when installing.
–  Fill space between the sealing lip and the dustcap halfway with grease → Spare parts catalogue.

–  Fasten the flanged shaft in a vice using protective jaws.
–  Remove the old safety ring from the flanged shaft groove by pushing with a new ring -A-.
–  Drive in flange shaft using a plastic-headed hammer and, if necessary, a drift.
–  Installing the drive shaft: → Running gear, shafts, steering; Rep. gr.42
–  Oil level of the rear final group (2nd Generation), check and, top up where applicable, Altea XL 2009 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2008 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2009 ► → Chapter.
