Removing:
Before beginning dismantling work, perform the following steps:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and pull out ignition key.
–  Open the lid of the stowage compartment.
–  Open the cover on the right for the jack and the hazard warning triangle.
–  Remove the hazard warning triangle, the jack and (if necessary) the ball head of the trailer hitch.
   
–  Unscrew the 3 securing bolts - arrows - from the bracket.

The securing bolts between the bracket and the video recorder each have a plastic washer -1- and a plastic bushing -2-. These plastic parts also must be reinstalled during assembly. If the parts are missing, the video recorder is grounded to the vehicle's body via the recorder housing, leading to interference noise when playing back and recording on video cassettes.

–  Unscrew the 3 securing bolts - arrows - from the bracket.

–  Unscrew securing bolt -arrow- at the top left of the video recorder.

–  Remove the video recorder -arrow- from the stowage compartment from below.

–  Unclip and detach the connector -arrow- from the video recorder cable harness.
