| Installation location: in the right side of the luggage compartment below panelling (wheelhouse). |
Note | The trailer detector control unit -J345- detects „trailer operation“ when a minimum of 5 W → Remark of power is consumed and transmits this information by the CAN- data bits to various control units. |
| The trailer detector control unit -J345- is supplied with information (light control) from the onboard supply control unit -J519- and convenience system central control unit -J393- via the CAN data bus. |

| The indicator lights or the limit lights must be lit so that the „trailer“ is detected. |
| Detection and display of faults: |
| The trailer detection control unit -J345- is fitted with a self-diagnosis to assist in fault location. |
| For fault location, use the function „guided fault location“ of the information, measuring and fault diagnosis system -VAS 505X-. |
