Removing the sealing cylinder
  Caution
Disconnect battery earth strap before working on the electrical system.
  Note!
t  Before disconnecting the battery check anti-theft coding on radios that have this feature
t  If the battery is reconnected check the vehicle equipment (radio, clock, power windows), following the indications in the Workshop Manual and/or the Operating Instructions
–  Removal of the combined switch of the steering column → Chapter, Steering column combined switch: removal and installation.
   
–  Remove the reading coil from the steering lock body -arrow-.
–  Uncouple the multicontact connector of the starter switch.
  Caution
Use protective eye glasses.

–  Remove the allen fixing bolt -1-.

–  Remove the multiple tooth adapter casing -3- , with the aid of the extractor -U-40100-, -1-, and the universal support, -T-20020--2-.
–  Separate the steering lock body and the spring of the encasing tube and the steering column.
Vehicle with extractable reading coil for immobilizer:
  E94-0144
–  Mark a point to drill on the body of the lock of the direction
a - 12 mm
b - 10 mm
Vehicles with reading coils to fix immobile the locking cylinder:
  V94-0576
–  Mark a point to drill on the body of the steering lock
a - 9.5 mm
b - 10 mm
Continued for all vehicles:
–  Drill the body of the steering lock (approx. 3mm ), until you can see the retaining spring of the locking cylinder (drill depth, approx. 3 mm).
–  Compress the retaining spring with the posterior part of the bit and remove the locking cylinder.
