Tightening torques: Battery: > < Vehicles with 2.0 litre TDI engine and 4V 105/125 kW

Removal:
–  Turn off the ignition and all electricity consumers.
–  With the ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth cable → Chapter.
–  Raise the vehicle.
–  Remove the right front wheel → Running gear; Rep. gr.Gr. 44.
   
–  Loosen the screws or quick-type locks -1 - and - 2- and remove front noise insulation.

–  Unscrew the screws -1- for right drive shaft heat shield.

–  Unscrew the bolt -1- from the starter -2- .

–  Unscrew the bolt -1- from the starter -2- .

–  Unscrew the nut -1- and remove the electric cables.
–  Unscrew the nut -2- for the clamp.

–  Swivel the starter motor downwards and remove from the vehicle.
–  Unplug the electrical connector -1-.

–  Unscrew bolt -1- and remove air conditioning line to facilitate removal of the starter motor.
–  Remove starter motor.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:
–  Connect battery. Steps required → Anchor.
