Removing and installing starter, 1.4 l, 90 kW TSI engine, manual gearbox MQ 200-6F Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-

t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332- Removing: –  Disconnect battery . → Chapter –  Remove air filter housing → Engine, mixture preparation; Rep. gr.24.

–  Push protective cap -1- off solenoid switch downwards in direction of -arrow-.

–  Release connector -1- and disconnect. –  Unscrew securing nut -2- and remove positive cable -3- from mounting thread of solenoid switch.

–  Unscrew securing nut -1- of cable retainer -2-. –  Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.

–  Unscrew securing nut -2- and remove cable retainer -1- from starter securing bolts.

–  Undo upper starter bolt -arrow-.

–  Unscrew lower securing bolt of starter -2- and remove starter -1- downwards out of vehicle. Installing: For fitting, the operations are carried out in reverse order to the removal, taking the following into account: –  Tighten threaded connections to torque specified in assembly overview → Chapter.
