Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Set of release tools -SAT 2100A-
  L00-10050
t  Torque wrenches -SAT 8010-
Removing:
–  Disconnect the negative cable of the battery → Chapter.

–  Unlock the retaining tabs -arrow A- of the cover -1- of the minus terminal of the battery and lift the cover -in the direction of arrow B-.

–  Unclip the retaining tabs -arrows A- from the cover of the cables -1-.
–  Fold the cover of the cables -1- in the -direction of arrow B-.

–  Unscrew the nut -2- of cable B+ -1- and remove cable B+ -1-.

–  Unlock the covers -arrow A- of covers -1- of the fuses and open in - the direction of arrow B-.

–  Loosen the retaining tabs -arrows- and remove the cover -1-.

–  Mark the pin assignment of the cables -1-.

–  Unscrew securing nuts -1-.
–  Remove the fuses -2-.
  N97-10519
–  Unlock the fuse -1- and press in - the direction of the arrow-.
–  Press the pins of the cables together using the specified tool from the set of release tools -VAS 1978/35-.

–  Press the main fuse box -1- in - the direction of the arrow- and remove from the battery.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:

t  All cables must be reconnected at the correct position of the fuses.
t  Insert the fuses according to current flow diagram.
Terminals layout → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
–  Tighten nuts and bolts to the torques shown. → Chapter
