| 1 - | Displays charging status 25 %. |
| 2 - | Displays charging status 50 %. |
| 3 - | Displays charging status 75 %. |
| 4 - | Displays charging status 100 %. |
| 6 - | Button Start / Stop and Setup to cancel the charging procedure and re-establish. Access to the Setup menu and selection of the characteristic curve type (press for 10 seconds). |
| 7 - | Displays irregularities. |

| Place the charging device in the engine compartment or under the vehicle. |
| –
| Connect the power cable to the charging device and the power supply. |
| Charger is in no-load operation - ready light is on. |

| Connect the red charging cable to the positive battery terminal „+“. |
Note | On vehicles with Start / Stop function and battery monitor control unit -J367-, the black charging terminal - must be connected to the body earthing. Connecting it to battery negative terminal will cause start/stop system to malfunction. |

| Connect the black charging cable to the negative battery terminal „-“. |
| The charging begins after approx. 2 seconds. |
| The LEDs show the charging status of the battery. When all lamps have illuminated, the battery is charged. |
| Once the battery is charged, the battery charger -VAS 5906- switches automatically to retention mode. |
Caution | There is a risk of spark generation when the charging terminals are removed too early. The charging stops by tapping on the Start / Stop button. |

| For ending the charging procedure, press the button Start / Stop button. |

| Remove the black charging cable from the negative battery terminal „-“. |

| Remove the red charging cable from the positive battery terminal „+“. |
