| General information about colour indicator: |
| Applies for all batteries with indexes „1J0“, „7N0“ and „3B0“, that have been installed as initial equipment and for all replacement batteries 191 915 105 AB and from index „000 915 105 AX“ |
| The magic eye may be used to check the level of electrolyte and the charge status of the battery. |
| Before visually checking the electrolyte level, tap on the colour display carefully and gently with the handle of a screwdriver. In this way, the bubbles are removed which could distort the colour of the colour indicator. The colour display of the magic eye will therefore be more accurate. |

| Bubbles could form under the magic eye, above all when the battery has been recharged, that is, even when charging during the running of the vehicle. These bubbles distort the colours on the colour indicator. |

| Since the colour indicator is only located in one battery cell, the indicator also only applies to this battery cell. Exact evaluation of the battery condition is possible only with a battery discharge test → Chapter or a battery test → Chapter. |

| The colour indicator can be located at various positions on the battery. |
| Three different colour indications are possible: |

| »Green«: the battery is sufficiently charged. |
| t
| »Black«: the battery is partially discharged, charge status < 65 % or discharged. |
| t
| »no colour or yellow «: the battery must be replaced. |
WARNING | The batteries whose magic eye a clear yellow or clear colour should not be tested nor charged. Do not perform an auxillary start. |
| The risk of explosion exists upon testing and charging or performing an auxillary start. |
| These batteries must be renewed. |
