| Determination of the electronic anti-theft protection code using the VAS: |

| Once all control units have been interrogated: |

| Select „Function / component“. |

| Select „01 Systems capable of self-diagnosis“. |

| Select „Radio and navigation system “. |
| –
| Select and run „Consult radio code“ |
| An authorisation query relating to the system appears next. Next the operating data, the chassis number and the radio/RNS equipment number are automatically consulted. |
Note | If new radio or radio and navigation systems are installed or if these have not been adapted to the vehicle, the Tester may not be able to read the number of the radio or radio and navigation system. In this case, the number should be entered manually. This number is located on a label stuck to the device and is engraved on the side of the device. |
| Lastly, the radio code is displayed on the Tester screen. |
| Now the anti-theft code must be entered in the radio manually. |
| Deactivate the electronic anti-theft protection: |
| The „SAFE“ indication appears on the display for about 10 seconds and then the number sequence „1000“. |
| –
| Enter the code using the respective function buttons. For this purpose, keep pressing the respective button until the correct number sequence is displayed. |
| Once the four digit code has been entered, „OK“ appears on the display. |
| –
| After entering the correct code, confirm this by pressing the function button „OK“ on the display. |
| The unit will be activated and is ready for use. |
Note | If the code has been entered incorrectly, one more attempt can be made. If the anti-theft code has been entered incorrectly two times after each other, the radio will remain blocked for 1 hour. In this case, leave the radio activated and the ignition switched on. After an hour, the process for deactivating the electronic anti-theft can be repeated. It must be considered that the radio is always blocked for one hour after entering two incorrect codes. |
