Distinguishing features of the ABS system
Distinguishing features of the ABS system
t  ABS - wheel control system when braking. It prevents the wheels from locking during a brake application initiated by the driver.
t  ESP - Electronic Stability Program. It recognizes critical driving conditions and stabilizes the vehicle by individual wheel braking and by intervention in the engine control. This occurs independently of the brake or accelerator pedal activation.
t  EDS - Electronic differential lock is a starting-off aid. A supporting torque is created for the differential by electronically controlling the braking of the driven wheel which is slipping. The engine power is thus available for the gripping wheel with the better adhesion. This also applies when reversing.
t  TCS - traction control system. Prevents the driving wheels from slipping when accelerating by throttling the engine power output. This is possible over the entire vehicle speed range. EDL and TCS are mutually supportive when accelerating the vehicle.
t  MBA - Mechanical brake assistance.
t  HBA - Hydraulic brake assistance.
t  EDC - Engine Drag Torque Control. Prevents the driving wheels from locking, if suddenly the accelerator pedal is released or when braking with a gear engaged.
t  EBD - Electronic brake pressure distribution.
t  ASC - automatic steering control. Recommends to the driver a change in the steering position, which under certain conditions can increase the efficiency of the ESP.
t  HHC - Hill Hold Control. Enables an easy driving off on uphills, without the vehicle rolling back and also without operating the locking brake.
t  TPM (RKA) - System for tyre pressure inspection
t  RKA (TPM) - Tyre inspection display
t  BPS - hydraulic assistance of the brake servo unit. Ensures the brake pressure increase in case of emergencies for example during numerous or steadily forceful brake applications.
t  RBS - Brake disc dryer system. By means of briefly braking (unnoticeable to the driver) it ensures that the brake discs of the front wheels are dry and clean during rainy weather.
t  TSA - Trailer Stability Assist. The vehicle tension stability system is a Software upgrade of the brake and stability program ESP which avoids the dangerous swaying of the trailer.
