Inspect valve guides
l  Cylinder head and valve spring removed
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Universal dial gauge holder -MP3-447 (VW 387)-
t  Dial gauge
Work procedure
  Note
If the valve is replaced when carrying out repair work, use a new valve for the measurement.
   
–  Insert valve into guide. End of valve stem must be flush with end of guide (without valve stem seal).
   Because of the different stem diameters only use inlet valve in inlet guide or outlet valve in outlet guide.
–  Determine valve rock.

  Note
If the wear limit is exceeded, repeat measurement with new valve. If the wear limit is again exceeded - replace cylinder head.
