1 - Engine cover with air filter
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   disassembling and assembling → Chapter
2 - Cable guide
q   clipped onto the intake manifold
3 - Connector
q   for oil level and oil temperature sender -G266-
q   only for vehicles with extended service intervals (WIV)
q   3-pin
4 - Connector
q   2-pin
q   for injection valves -N30…N32-
5 - Connection for fuel supply hose
q   from fuel filter
6 - 8 Nm
7 - Fuel rail with injection valves
q   disassembling and assembling → Chapter
8 - Vent valve
q   Vent fuel system → Chapter
9 - 20 Nm
10 - Intake manifold
q   disassembling and assembling → Chapter
11 - Lambda probe upstream of catalytic converter - G39-, 50 Nm
q   Fitting location: in the exhaust manifold
q   coat only thread with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3 -; hot bolt paste must not get into the slot of the probe body
12 - Connector
q   4-pin
q   for lambda probe upstream of catalytic converter -G39-
q   black
q   Fitting location → Chapter
13 - Lambda probe downstream of catalytic converter -G130-, 50 Nm
q   Fitting location: downstream of catalytic converter
q   coat only thread with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3 -; hot bolt paste must not get into the slot of the probe body
14 - Connector
q   4-pin
q   for lambda probe downstream of catalytic converter -G130-
q   Brown
q   Fitting location → Chapter
15 - Coolant temperature sender -G62-
q   before removing, reduce pressure in cooling system if necessary
16 - O-ring
q   replace
17 - Retaining clip
q   check tightness
18 - 8 Nm
19 - Coolant regulator housing
q   disassembling and assembling → Chapter
20 - Retaining clip
q   check tightness
21 - 52- and 28-pin plugs
q   for control unit Simos -J623-
q   only insert or remove plug when the ignition is switched off
q   unlock the multi-pin plug connection before pulling out
22 - Engine control unit
q   Control unit Simos -J623 -
q   Fitting location → Chapter
q   Check supply voltage → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations
q   replace → Chapter
q   Coding → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051

q   Fitting location: downstream of catalytic converter
q   coat only thread with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3 -; hot bolt paste must not get into the slot of the probe body

q   for lambda probe downstream of catalytic converter -G130-
q   Brown
q   Fitting location → Chapter
18 - Coolant temperature sender -G62-
q   before removing, reduce pressure in cooling system if necessary

q   check tightness
24 - 81- and 40-pin plugs

q   only insert or remove plug when the ignition is switched off
q   unlock the multi-pin plug connection before pulling out
25 - Engine control unit

q   replace → Chapter
