Removing and installing the convenience system central control unitJ393
Removing and installing the convenience system central control unit -J393-
  Note
t  When replacing the convenience system central control unit -J393-, the → Vehicle diagnostic tester must be connected before removing the control unit and the function „Replace control unit“ must be selected in the operating mode „Targeted fault finding“. Then code the new control unit after the installation see → Vehicle diagnostic tester
t  All plug connections can only be connected in one position, they must not be mixed up.
The control unit is located behind the dash panel on the drive side above the brake pedal.
Removing
–  Disconnect battery earth strap → Chapter.
–  Remove the damper below the dash panel on the driver side → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Removing the left footwell vent on the driver side → Heating, Air Conditioning; Rep. gr.80.
   
–  Removing brake light switch -1- → Chassis; Rep. gr.46.
–  Slightly press off the control unit -3--arrow A- and slide out of the bracket -2--arrow B-.
–  Release and disconnect the plug connections.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
–  Pay attention to the work sequence when re-connecting the battery → Chapter.
