Interrogating control unit version

Readout on display:

If no readout appears in the display, check plug connection for self-diagnosis - electrical test → Chapter and further, test steps 14 and 15.

Note

t	Additional operating instructions can be displayed via the HELP button of the -V.A.G 1552- according to the program.

t	The → button is used for moving forward in the program.

–	Switch on ignition.

t	the version number, e.g. V00

t	the code No. of the control unit, e.g. 03604

t	the workshop code (WSC) → Operating instructions vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552

Vehicles with CAN BUS

On the display appears, e.g. the display:

Code the control unit → Chapter.

If the control unit identification number is not displayed → Chapter.

–	Press → key.

Note

After pressing the HELP button an overview of the possible functions is displayed:

If the → button is pressed, the programme returns to the initial position.
