Silencer with hangers > < Removing and installing parts of the exhaust system
Exhaust manifold, front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter, lambda probe

  Note
t  The front exhaust pipe and the catalytic converter are welded together as standard, supplied individually as a spare part.
t  For repairs, separate parts with body saw (e. g. -V.A.G 1523-)
1 - 10 Nm
2 - Hot air collector
3 - Gasket
–  replace
4 - Washer
5 - 25 Nm
–  replace
–  coat with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3- before inserting
6 - Exhaust manifold
7 - Lambda probe, 55 Nm
–  use lambda probe wrench for removing and installing
–  coat only thread with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3-, hot bolt paste must not get into the slots of the probe body
–  test: → 1.6 ltr./55 kW Engine 1AV fuel injection and ignition system; Rep. Gr.24
8 - Catalytic converter
9 - 20 Nm
–  replace
10 - Gasket ring
–  replace
–  wide side to front exhaust pipe
11 - Front exhaust pipe
12 - 40 Nm
–  replace
–  coat with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3- before inserting
13 - Bracket with guide tube
14 - Sheet metal screw, 2 Nm
