Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552 - with cable -V.A.G 1551/3-.
Test conditions
l  Coolant temperature at least 80°C
l  Electrical consumers must be disconnected (the radiator cooling fan must be off during this test)
l  Air conditioning off
l  No fault in fault memory
Procedure
   
–  Connect vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- and select engine electronics control unit (address word 01). The engine must be idling for this step.
(Connecting up the vehicle system tester and selecting the engine electronics control unit → Chapter).

Readout on display:
–  Enter 08 for the function “Read measured value block” and confirm entry with the Q.

Display group number 001 is an example to represent the sequence.
–  Enter 001 for the display group number 1 and confirm entry with the Q key.
