Replace front and rear silencer > < Removing and installing front exhaust pipe

Removing and installing exhaust manifold
Removing and installing exhaust manifold
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Torque wrench 5...50 Nm (e.g. - V.A.G 1331 -)
Removing
–  Remove front exhaust pipe → Chapter.
–  Remove shield at exhaust manifold.
   
–  Remove front noise insulation -arrows-.
–  Unscrew fixing nuts for exhaust manifold and lift out exhaust manifold to the bottom right.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:
–  Position exhaust manifold with new gasket at cylinder head.
–  Fit on washers and tighten fixing nuts uniformly crosswise.
   Tightening torque: 25 Nm
–  Tighten shield at exhaust manifold.
   Tightening torque: 25 Nm
–  Install front exhaust pipe → Chapter.
