Inspecting charge pressure control solenoid valve N75
Inspecting charge pressure control solenoid valve -N75-
Special tools, test equipment and aids required
t  Handheld multimeter (e.g. -V.A.G 1526A-)
t  Measuring tool set (e.g. -V.A.G 1594 A-)
t  Vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with cable -V.A.G 1551/3, 3A, 3B oder 3C-
t  Test box -V.A.G 1598/22- or - V.A.G 1598/31-
t  Voltage tester (e.g. -V.A.G 1527-)
Test sequence
–  Connecting up the vehicle system tester and selecting → Chapter the control unit for engine electronics.
–  Select final control diagnosis and activate charge pressure control solenoid valve -N75- → Chapter.
If the injector is not actuated (does not click):
   
–  Disconnect plug -1- from charge pressure control solenoid valve -N75- and connect the voltage tester between plug contacts.
Voltage tester must flash.
Voltage tester flashes.
–  Terminate final control diagnosis.
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Connect multimeter for resistance measurement at valve -2-.
Specified value: 14...20 Ω
If the specified value is not reached:
–  Replacing charge pressure control solenoid valve -N75-.
Voltage tester does not flash:
–  Terminate final control diagnosis.
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Connect the multimeter for voltage measurement to contact 1 of the connector -1- and to earth.
–  Switch on ignition.
Specified value: approx. battery voltage
If the specified value is not reached:
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Connect test box -V.A.G 1598/22- or - V.A.G 1598/31- to wiring loom of engine control unit → Chapter.

–  Test the cable connections for short circuit to positive or negative and for open circuit according to the current flow diagrams (plug -1-) → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations.
–  If necessary eliminate wire interruption or short-circuit.
If the lines are not found to be faulty:
–  Replacing engine control unit -J248- → Chapter.
