Aligning exhaust system free of stress
Aligning exhaust system free of stress
l  The exhaust system is aligned when cold.
   
–  Slacken nuts at the clamping sleeve -1- and align to the intermediate pipe -2- (-arrow- points in direction of travel).
   -a- = 5 mm
The fixing screws must be located on the right. They must not protrude beyond the bottom edge of the clamping sleeve.
–  Tighten the front nut by hand.

–  Push the exhaust system so far forward until the dimension -a- of 7...9 mm is achieved between the hanger/body and the hanger/middle part of the exhaust system.
–  Tighten bolted connections of the clamping sleeve evenly to 23 Nm.
Align exhaust tailpipes

–  Align rear muffler in such a way that there is
l  an equal distance between bumper opening and tailpipe -a-.
l  the distance -b- from the bumper opening to the exhaust tailpipes is equal.
For aligning, if necessary the hangers of the exhaust system must be loosened.
