–
| Screw the testing device into the oil filter holder instead of the removed oil pressure switch. |
–
| Start the engine and increase the engine speed. |
For engine with identification characters BZB |
l
| At 2000 rpm the oil overpressure should be 0.27...0.45 MPa (2.7...4.5 bar). |
l
| At a higher engine speed the oil pressure must not be greater than 0.7 MPa (7 bar). |
For engine with identification characters CDAA, CDAB, CCZA |
l
| In idle, the oil overpressure should be 0.12...0.21 MPa (1.2...2.1 bar). |
l
| At 2000 rpm the oil overpressure should be 0.16...0.21 MPa (1.6...2.1 bar). |
l
| At 3700 rpm the oil overpressure should be 0.30...0.40 MPa (3.0...4.0 bar). |
Note If the engine is new, the oil pressure can be between 0.30...0.40 MPa (3.0...4.0 bar) during the first 1000 km at 2000 rpm. |
Continued for all engines |
If the specified value is not reached: |
–
| Check the strainer in the suction line for contamination. |
Note Also mechanical damage, e.g. bearing damage can be the cause of a too low oil pressure. |
If the specified pressure is exceeded: |
Note Before installing the new oil pump, check the oil ducts in the upper part of the oil pan for contamination. |
