Separating new conrod
Separating new conrod
It can happen that on a new conrod, the provided separation point is not completely cracked. If the conrod bearing cap cannot be removed by hand, proceed in the following manner:
–  Mark the assignment of the conrod to the cylinder.
   
–  Slightly tension the conrod, as shown in the illustration, in a vice provided with aluminium protective jaws.
  Note
t  Only tension the conrod slightly in order to avoid damage.
t  The conrod is clamped below the broken line.
–  Unscrew both screws -arrows- by approx. 5 turns.

–  Knock against the conrod bearing cap with a plastic hammer in -direction of arrow- in order to loosen it.
