| The fuel tank must not be more than 3/4 full. |
Note t
| If necessary, extract fuel from the fuel tank → Chapter. |

| Safety precautions when working on the fuel supply system → Chapter. |

| Rules of cleanliness when working on the fuel supply system → Chapter. |

| Make sure that the float arm of the fuel gauge sender 2 -G169- is not bent. |

| Switch off the ignition and all electrical components and take out the ignition key. |

| Remove the left cover in direction of travel from the sender for the fuel gauge display 2 -G169-. |

| Disconnect the plug from the fuel gauge sender 2 -G169- and remove the plug connection for the four-wheel drive control unit -J492- from the bracket in the flange. |
