For disassembling the auxiliary heating, remove it from the vehicle → Chapter
   
1 - Cover for auxiliary heating control unit -J364-
q   removing - separate the fuel supply and unlatch the cover from the latch clips
2 - Temperature sensor -G18-
q   remove and install, test → Chapter
3 - Overheating sensor -G189-
q   remove and install, test → Chapter
4 - Fuel shut-off valve -N109-
q   only on vehicles with diesel engine as of CW 45.05
q   Component of the combustion pipe, cannot be replaced individually
q   Inspect proper operation → Chapter
5 - Combustion pipe
6 - Heat exchanger
7 - 7 Nm
8 - Retaining spring
9 - 4 Nm
10 - Gasket
q   replace after each removal
q   Check fitting position
11 - Cover
q   removing and installing → Chapter
12 - Coolant hose supports
13 - 4 Nm
14 - Retaining plate
15 - Coolant hose supports
16 - Retaining clip
17 - Glow plug with flame monitoring -Q8-
q   pay attention to correct position
q   remove and install, test → Chapter
  Note
For vehicles with diesel engines, the heating element for fuel preheating -Z66- is installed firmly at the combustion pipe The cables are connected with the cables of the glow plug with flame monitoring -Q8-. In the case of this version the complete combustion pipe must be replaced, if the glow plug with flame monitoring -Q8- is defective.
18 - Heating element for fuel preheating -Z66- (only diesel engines)
q   Inspect proper operation → Vehicle diagnostic tester
19 - Housing
q   the combustion air blower -V6- and the housing cannot be disassembled
20 - Auxiliary heating control unit -J364-
q   removing and installing → Chapter
21 - 4 Nm
